Mechanical properties of novel stitched 3D hybrid basalt composite
Novel stitched 3D hybrid basalt composite with the different layup methods were manufactured with the RTM technique (Resin Transfer Molding). The tensile, flexural and drop-hammer impact tests were carried out. Load-displacement, energy-displacement curves were obtained. The comparison among three different kinds of composites shows that the composite with the reinforcement of outer woven layer and inner knitting layer possesses best impact energy absorbed abilities.
