Research on Flax, Ramie and Their Blended Yarns Applied to Flat Knitting Machines

摘要：

This paper deals with the knittability of flax, ramie and their blended yarns used in the flat knitting machines. The research has been carried out to test the mechanical properties of the flat knitting products produced by different flax and ramie materials, sinking depth and various structures. Findings are that wetting, winding and waxing treatment are effective methods to improve the knittability of the flax, ramie and their blended yarns. The main factor that affects the mechanical properties of the products is the sinking depth.
