Assessment of Spinnability of Cotton Fibres by Compression Method
Traditionally, most of the mechanical problems in elementary physics and mechanics courses were solved by ignoring the effect of friction because the inclusion of frictional forces made the analysis too complicated. Friction also has an important role in textile applications. During the spinning process, for example, it is the only force holding the fibres together if no twist is present 1,2.
