Colorimetric sensor for Hg2+ based on polyacrylonitrile fiber
An inexpensive and simple naked-eye colorimetric sensor for Hg2+ was prepared by immobilization of functional groups for Hg2+ on polyacrylonitrile fiber. A color change from pale yellow to red appeared when the fiber contacts with Hg2+ in aqueous solution. The results indicated strong push-pull system was formed after the coordination of Hg2+.
