Effect of enzymatic modification on the dyeing of wool with natural pigment sappan
INTRODUCTION In recent years, protease and transglutaminase (TG) were reported to be applied on the modification of the wool fiber in order to improve shrinkage resistance 1-2and control its damage3-5. There have been relatively few papers studying the effect of enzyme, especially transglutaminase, on dyeing properties of wool. Recently there is interest in the dyeing of textile fibers with natural dyes 6-7. In this paper, the influences of protease and transglutaminase on the dyeing performance of wool with natural pigment sappan were studied. The absorbance spectrum in UV and visible region, Ltd and of analytical grade.
