Performance Analysis of Two-Dimensional Differential Frequency Hopping in AWGN Channel
Differential Frequency Hopping (DFH) is a new kind of Frequency Hopping (FH) communication system using completely digital technology integrating modulation/demodulation, encoding/decoding and encrypting/decrypting together, firstly designed by the Sanders Inc in 1996. To improve the rate of communication of DFH communication system, this paper proposes a two-dimensional DFH system, and introduce a method to design a twodimensional DFH pattern by using the way of traditional DFH pattern. The Symbol Error Ratio (SER) of Symbol-By-Symbol (SBS) of the two-dimensional DFH in Additive White Gaussian Noise (AWGN) channel is also given in an analytical form, and has also been verified through simulations. The results show that the two-dimensional DFH can double the transmission rate at a minor performance loss when compared with the traditional one.
