A Data Replication Strategy for Minimizing the Transmission Time on Data Grid
Abstract 桰n recent years, several parallel download methods have been proposed to reduce the download time of. les from multiple nodes. However, most of them are aimed at reducing the client-server transmission cost instead of balancing the workload of all the nodes by replicating popular. les to nodes that can provide a more ef.cient transmission. In this paper, an ef.cient replication algorithm for minimizing the average transmission time on a data grid, called Data Replication Algorithm for Data Grid (DRADG), is proposed. Simulation results show that the proposed method DRADG outperforms the previous methods in terms of the average transmission time.
