Measurement of Bubble Size Distribution in Liquids by Optical and Acoustical Methods
Bubbles in liquids are very important to many subjects, such as biology, chemistry and underwater acoustics. Up to now, the measurement systems of bubble size distribution are still very complex. The aim of this paper is to measure the bubble size distribution accurately and easily by optical and acoustical methods. A high resolution camera and some digital image processing of bubbles were applied in the optical system. The sound velocity and wave attenuation detection techniques were used in the acoustical method. The results of the optical and acoustical methods agree well.
