Dynamic Service Management Architecture And Mechanism Based On C-SCIM In IMS

IMS lacks mechanism and solution for service conflict management. This paper presents a new architecture C-SCIM and a mechanism for dynamic service conflict detection and resolution in both originating domain and terminating domain. C-SCIM extends SCIM with a DSCDM (Dynamic Service Conflict Detection Method) which detects and avoids service conflict. The paper also proposes a SRM (Service Rollback Method) for conflict resolution, which rollbacks some services when conflicts are detected. DSCDM detects and avoids service conflict in originating domain, terminating domain, and between both of them, as well as ensures there is no conflict after the session is established. The mechanism is a beneficial supplement for IMS system. Analysis shows that this mechanism can effectively manage the service conflict in IMS system.
