Investigation the effect of bio-electromagnetic therapy on oxygen blood concentration

This paper investigates the effects of bioelectromagnetic therapy on oxygen blood concentration using a computer based (PC-based) pulse oximeter. It is divided into two parts, which are the PC-based pulse oximeter design and investigation on the relationship between bio-electromagnetic therapies with oxygen-blood concentration. For circuit design, four types of circuits with their own specification were built to support the analyses which are pulsing circuit, Light Emitting Diode (LED) and photodiode circuit, trans-impedance amplifier and switching circuit. The outputs are filtered using MATLAB and then the percentage of oxygen-blood concentration was calculated. The relationship study is based on several subjects conditions, which are healthy, unhealthy, smoking and drinking the carbonated drink. It can be concluded that there is no significant effect on oxygen blood concentration (SpO2) for tested conditions and the results are successfully displayed on the PC-based pulse oximeter.
