Node Activity Degree and Message Copies Estimating Methods for Opportunistic Networks
Node activity degree can reflect a nodes ability to deliver message. Number of message copies can reflect the probability that this message has been delivered successfully. Both of them will be useful when we design routing and cache management protocol for opportunistic networks. This paper proposes methods to estimate node activity degree and number of message copies. We first show the way how to evaluate nodes activity degree, and then give method to estimate nodes activity degree weight According to the historical information of meeting, we prove that if a group of messages have lived for the same time, then the distribution of number of message copies in this group is normal distribution. So we estimate number of message copies as the expectation of their distribution. Simulation results show the proposed methods can effectively estimate the node activity degree and number of message copies.
