Unscented Kalman Filtering for Continuous Phase Frequency Shift Keying Equalization
Continuous Phase Frequency Shift Keying (CPFSK) is an attractive modulation scheme in many wireless applications. In this paper, a novel method of implementing the Unscented Kalman Filter (UKF) as an equalizer has been proposed in CPFSK. To demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method, the discrete Unscented and Extended Kalman Filters (EKF) have been integrated in the receiver of a half duplex Bluetooth system model built in MATLAB/S1MULINK. Our simulation results demonstrate the advantages of implementing these filters in CPFSK, and reveal the superior performance of the UKF over the EKF.
