DIGITAL EYE FOR VISUALLY IMPAIRED
Visually impaired people suffer from lots of problems every day in their miserable life. Many of them have lost their hope to live due to inability. They are in need of someone to assist their activities around the clock. This project mainly focuses on making visually impaired people fully independent like a normal human being in all aspects. The proposed system is based on FPGA and Sensors. This forms an electronic eye which transmits and receives information from the outside world through a digital camera. The information is received through the sensors and cameras located in legs and on the cap placed over the head respectively. The data received from the sensors and cameras is processed by FPGA (MFU UNIT) that in turn interacts to the person through voice processing units. Thereby the person can receive the information about surroundings through the headset (voice output) and direct his way easily on his own. In case of a person being blind as well as deaf, with the help of small vibrators he can feel his path and move accordingly.
