Performance Analysis of DSR Routing Protocol under Mobility Environment
DSR is one of the important ad hoc routing protocols. Most of ad hoc networks are used under mobility environment, so it is a meaningful thing to analyze the performance of DSR under mobility environment. The performance of mobility model can affect the accurateness of routing protocol simulation. This paper proves that the spatial distribution of network nodes according to random waypoint (RWP) is nonuniform. We improve RWP in order to overcome its shortcomings. Then we simulate the hops per route, transmission delay and routing overhead of DSR based on the improved mobility model. The conclusion is that DSR does very well in ad hoc network under mobility environment.
