Pressurized Water Reactor Control based on LQG Optimal Algorithm

The reactor temperature control corresponding to the power control is a key part of the reactor control system. In recent years, Chinas nuclear power industry develops rapidly. Since nuclear power stations are always in the full power operation, they require high security control performance. This paper refers to the cool water temperature control of the main loop. Based on small perturbation theory, the nonlinear model of the reactor core system is linearized. Gaussian linear quadratic optimal control scheme is incorporated into the control system. Simulation results show that this control strategy improved the coolant temperature response, and speeded the load response.
