On the Relationships Between Learner Autonomy and Language Proficiency: An Investigation of Chinese English Majors
Based on definitions of learner autonomy and language proficiency, taking Chinese context into consideration, this article carries out the investigation of 70 Chinese English majors with quantitative approach, verifying the research hypothesis that learners with autonomous learning ability can make faster progress in language proficiency than those without learner autonomy. In the end, implications of cultivating learner autoaomy and suggestions for further studies are presented.
