A PARALLEL COMPUTING FRAMEWORK FOR A TUMOR GROWTH FEM SIMULATION
This paper proposes a parallel computing framework for the simulation of a FEM model which modeling the procedure of the avascular tumor growth. Based on the finite element analysis, the computation formulas are derived to simplify the simulation process. According to these formulas, the computation process of tumor growth is described and the algorithms are designed to implement the process. Furthermore a cell division algorithm is used to determine the section surface of cell when the cell stop growing and split. Some experiments demonstrate the feasibility and effectiveness of the FEM model and the computation methods.
