DYNAMIC EVOLUTION OF COATING/SUBSTRATE SYSTEM WITH TEMPERATURE-DEPENDENT PROPERTIES SUBJECTED TO LASER IRRADIATION
Laser surface treatment of materials has attracted more and more attention to improve the surface properties of metals as well as ceramics including transformation hardening, melting, alloying and so on. However, laser will damage the surface if the laser power and irradiation conditions are not controlled well. This paper investigates the thermomechanical coupling behavior of coating/substrate system subjected to laser irradiation. A finite element method accounting for temperature-dependent properties is developed to simulate the dynamical evolution of stress and topography of both coating and substrate during laser irradiation.
