Research on MAC for Vehicular Ad Hoc Networks

摘要：

In Vehicular Ad Hoc Networks (VANETs), Media Access Control (MAC) protocol is indispensable to ensure that the mobile vehicles fairly and efficiently share the wireless spectrum.As for the specific characteristics and the increased attractive services in VANET,few MAC protocols in Mobile Ad Hoc Networks (MANETs) can be suitable and efficient in VANET.We first give a brief introduction related to MAC for vehicular communications. Current MAC schemes for VANET are then presented including some special hot topics such as IEEE 802.11 standards and multichannel-related protocols.followed by a summary on more research proposed in the recent literature. At the end of the paper, we discuss a few challenges faced and point out some future research directions.
