A Study on Energy Recovery Device for Seawater Desalination

摘要：

Energy recovery device,which is essential to the desalination system, is of great importance for reductions of the power consumption and the product cost. The energy recovery device uses the reject brine as its feed and directly pressurizes the seawater in the cylinders to achieve the aim of pressure energy recovery. However, during operation, the fluctuant feeding of the brine seriously affects the stability of the desalination system. The paper has improved the control scheme of the device to avoid the occurrence of the brine flow and pressure variations. It can also protect some important equipment such as reverse osmosis membranes and highpressure pumps.
