THE IMPLEMENTATION OF A LOAD BALANCE SYSTEM SUPPORTING SIP SERVICE CLUSTER
In order to improve the throughput of the SIP Session Control Server, a high-performance Load Balance (LB) system has been proposed in this paper. Firstly, based on Hash Slots mechanism, the SIP request messages are distributed to corresponding SCSP (Session Control Service Point) or the agent of the SCSP cluster. For the SCSP cluster, the exact SCSP to handle this request is chosen by the agent according to a real node load based balance algorithm provided by this paper. Furthermore, the LB does not need to transfer other SIP messages except for the initial request message in a SIP session. The system has been implemented and deployed in the Session Service Platform in a service demonstration network to support the provisioning of various session type services in three network convergence environment The performance test shows that this scheme is feasible and effective.
