A Modify SSB Full-duplex Millimeter-Wave Radio-over-Fiber System Based on Multiplication Technology

Abstract- A novel scheme to generate optical millimeter-wave (mm-wave) signals by using singlesideband (SSB) modulation technique was designed. In the center station, Odd order sidebands were suppressed by proper adjusting the direct current(DC) bias of phase external modulator in central station. One of the second order sidebands was filtered out and SSB modulation was realized. Then the base band signal was mixed with a sub-carrier frequency, this sub-carrier was modulated to the second order sideband by single-sideband modulation. With this new single side band modulation technology produces optical millimeter-wave can transmit 100km both in uplink and downlink. The uplink carrier is separated by using Fiber Bragg Grating (FBG) and Circulator. The configuration in both center & base stations will be simple by using SSB modulation. And the fiber dispersion effect will be reduced greatly. The system is more stable and frequency bands were saved a lot at same time.
