An improved channel estimation for OFDM transmit Systems
In this paper, an improved channel stimation algorithm for orthogonal frequencydivision multiplexing mobile communication systems is proposed. Generally, the channel transfer function (CTF) is directly used to detect the transmitted data after being estimated. But the error between the detected data and the original data decreases the capability of the communication system. In order to get more precisely estimated result, the recursive algorithm is adopted in this process. The process consists of three steps. First, the estimation of the CTF at pilot subcarriers is done based on least squares (LS) and LMMSE criterions. Then, the Temporal Window will filter the noise in the channel at the time domain, a recursive method is investigated to reduce the ugly parts of the estimated CFT based on Wiener&Kolmogorov optimum filter. The simulation results show that the improved estimator provided better performance than the regular LS and LMMSE estimator.
