Application of Simulation Modeling and Optimization in Container Terminal

In order to develop advantages of simulation model and optimization methods to analyze the scheduling problem in container port, we propose a Hybrid Frame with integration of simulating and optimizing. The simulation model is mainly based on the discrete event system simulation method. And Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) is chosen to optimize the results. Inspired from the multi-Agent method and the characteristic of PSO, every individual can be seen as an Agent which can carry out the simulation model separately and arallelly. We build a model of berth allocation in container terminal and select real data to do experiment. The result proves that the framework is available and effective.
