THE PERFORMANCE INDEX LIMITS FOR DUCTILE RC SHEAR WALL COMPONENTS BASED ON CHINESE CODES

In order to determine the deformation performance index limits of ductile RC shear wall components under earthquakes which was designed according to Chinese codes,seven RC shear wall components experiments data in some literatures were first used to verify the reliability of the finite element method. Then,the finite element method was applied to analyze a set of ductile RC shear wall components which was designed according to the current Chinese codes. The shear span ratio of the components is greater than or equal to 2.0. Parametric studies were made of the influence of longitudinal reinforcement ratio of confined boundary members,shear span ratio and axial compression ratio. Finally,to give a reference to determine the performance status of the shear wall components,the deformation performance index and its limits of ductile RC shear wall components under severe earthquakes are proposed by the finite element model results.
