THE FINITE ELEMENT ANALYSIS OF DOUBLE-TUBE BUCKLING RESTRAINED BRACES

The double-tube buckling restrained braces consists of inner- tube and outer-tube. Owe to the restriction of outer-tube,braces show the same load-displacement behavior in both compression and tension. BRBs can absorb higher energy under weak or strong earthquake action,so the degree of safety of structure was enhanced. Based on the theory of the finite element method,the finite element entity model of Double-Tube Buckling Restrained Brace has been built. The DoubleTube Buckling Restrained Brace is systematically analyzed and computed,so that the strength and the dissipative characteristics of member are obtained.Some advices of the application of BRBs were offered.
