STUDY ON THE ANCHORAGE LENGTH OF THE STEEL REINFORCED LIGHTWEIGHT AGGREGATE CONCRETE

Test and theory researches are performed to investigate the reasonable anchorage length of steel reinforced lightweight aggregate concrete. Bond stress distribution test curves which is negative exponent function along the anchorage are acquired by push-out test in which the negative exponent is fitted. Bond stress distribution curves show that bond stress can be effectively transferred in the maximum sectional dimension along anchorage length that means the lower limit of anchorage length. Critical anchorage length is deduced by the established equilibrium equation when the shaped steel yield and at the same time the bond failure occur. The coefficient of critical anchorage length is introduced in calculation the critical anchorage length and major factors that affect the critical anchorage length are also analyzed. The coefficient varies in a small range for different I steel when concrete cover, stirrup ratio and concrete strength are constant values, then it can be used to calculate upper limit of critical anchorage length. The rational anchored length can be determined between the lower limit and critical anchorage length.
