EXPERIMENTAL RESEARCH ON IN-PLANAR BENDING BEHAVIOR OF UNSTIFFENED CHS T-JOINTS
To study the in-planar bending behavior of unstiffened CHS T-Joints,unstiffened CHS T-Joints were tested under monotonic loading. The mechanic property and joint failure modes under the in-planar moment are presented in the paper. The ultimate bending capacity and rigidity of unstiffened CHS T- Joints are discussed. Results of these tests show that the ultimate bending capacity of joints is approximate to that of brace sections; the ultimate bending capacity of joints can meet the standard of designing; the rigidity of the CHS T- Joints is approximate to that of ideal semi-rigid connecting joints at the moment before fringe yield,the test specimens show great deformation capacity when they manifest nonlinearity.
