RESEARCH ON RELIABILITY OF CALCULATION FORMULAS OF FLEXURAL CAPACITY OF RC BEAMS REINFORCED WITH CFRP

Most researches focusing on the flexural capacity of the RC beams reinforced with the CFRP indicate that the damage patterns of the beams are as follows: Ⅰ. Damage of the CFRP sheets being pulled off. Ⅱ. Crush damage of the concrete. Ⅲ. Shear damage of the reinforced beams. Ⅳ. Peel damage of the CFRP and the concrete. Some effective measures are always taken to avoid the damage of pattern Ⅰ. Ⅲ. Ⅳ according to the codes of the reinforced concrete structure design (GB50367-2006). In general,the damage of pattern Ⅱ is expected in the design of reinforcing the concrete structure with CFRP. The calculation formulas of the ultimate flexural capacity of the RC beams reinforced with the CFRP are proposed clearly in the codes of the reinforced concrete structure design (GB50367-2006). When discussing the ultimate capacity formulas,most researches in flexural strengthening of RC beams are based on the calculation formulas in the codes,combined the calculation results with the measurements,then analyzed and compared the calculated results and the experimental ones. In the last,some suggestions or amendments are always proposed according to the codes. Generally speaking,the conclusions in different trial conditions are only feasible in the corresponding cases. So a comprehensive index to assess the optimum model is necessary here in. The method of advanced first order second moment is used in this paper to calculate the reliability,firstly,the calculation results with the experimental ones in different trial conditions are analyzed,the reliability index is also gained,secondly,the security of different calculation formulas can be judged according to the codes of structural reliability design (GB500682001),Finally,some more reliable and more accuracy formulas were obtained.
