NUMERICAL STUDY ON FLEX URAL PROPERTIES OF PARTIALLY HIGH PERCENTAGE FIBER REINFORCED CONCRETE

In view of deficiency of low addition of steel fiber, high cost and poor performance price ratio of steel fiber reinforced concrete (SFRC),a technology of slurry infiltrated fiber concrete (SIFCon) and a concept of Partially high percentage fiber reinforced concrete (PHPFRC) have been introduced in this study. With this technology, the fibers could be converged to the stress focused region of structural components. In this paper,by applying this technique and with an assumption of heterogeneous material in mesoscale, corresponding numerical simulation has been conducted. The complete process of initialization of damage, coalescence of mini crack, crack development to failure of structural components under load has been revealed. In addition,by comparison of the loaddisplacement curve of both PHPFRC and conventional SFRC specimens, the strengthening and toughening mechanism of PHPFRC has been analyzed in details in meso-scale.
