BEHAVIOUR OF CONCRETE-FILLED TUBULAR T-JOINTS UNDER IN-PLANE BENDING CYCLIC LOADING

In this paper, experimental investigation was conducted to study the behaviour of concrete-filled tubular T-joints under in-plane bending cyclic loading. The main chord was loaded in compression while the brace was under quasi-static cyclic inplane bending loading. Three concrete filled steel Tjoints and two pure steel T-joint were tested. The systeretic curves of test specimens were obtained. It is shown that the hysteretic behaviour of concretefilled steel tubular T joints were slightly reduced compared with those of steel tubular T joints. In addition, the failure modes, skeleton curves and ultimate strengths of test specimens were also evaluated and compared. It is shown that the filled concrete change the failure mode of T-joints. The filled concrete also effectively enhances the ultimate strengths and stiffness of T-joints.
