A NOVEL MECHANICS MODEL FOR FATIGUE CRACK GROWTH UNDER CONSTANT AMPLITUDE LOADING
This paper discusses a methodology for the fatigue analysis under constant amplitude (CA) loading. The mechanics mechanism of fatigue crack growth (FCG) was illuminated based on static fracture mechanics with thinking about the inertial effect coefficient and its impact to crack tip caused by alternate loading. And the correlative problems of dynamic fracture mechanics were changed into ones of linear elastic fracture mechanics by dalemberts principle. Thereafter,a mechanics model for FCG under CA loading was proposed. A new expression for the FCG rate has thus been derived. The expression was tested using some couple samples from published experimental results. It is in good agreement with the test results.
