ELASTIC-PLASTIC DYNAMIC RESPONSE ANALYSIS ON THE HIGH-RISE STRUCTURE INCORPORATED WITH MR DAMPER
Magneto-rheological (MR) damper is a new device for semi-active control by the application of structure. Based on the Linear Quadratic Regulator (LQR) control algorithm,the optimal control force is calculated. The member model and the three linear stiffness degradation models are selected as the calculation model of the structure and the hysteretic model of the bar. A program on high-rise building is made in MATLAB to calculate the elastic-plastic dynamic responses including the displacement responses,the acceleration responses and the base shears of each floor,and the dynamic responses of the uncontrolled structure and the controlled structure with MR damper are compared. The results show that the displacement responses and the acceleration responses of each floor of high-rise building which is employed by MR damper are reduced significantly with the corresponding base shears decreasing slightly,furthermore,the effectiveness of MR damper in displacement responses is superior to that in acceleration responses. The results verify the highrise structure controlling system and the control effect of the MR damper.
