EXPERIMENTAL STUDY ON VIDEOGRAMMETRIC TECHNIQUE FOR VIBRATION DISPLACEMENT MEASUREMENT
The paper applies a videogrammetric technique to measure the dynamic displacement of structures. Via this new manner,a home-used digital video camera is used only to record the vibration of a cable in a cable-stayed bridge and equipment installation on the cable is not necessary. The video clip is first transferred into image frames, and then the shape of the target is recognized with image analysis. From continuous image frames, the position and displacement time history are identified. Further the technique is applied to a cantilever beam to capture the motion of multiple points simultaneously. The displacement results are compared with the double integration of acceleration data recorded by accelerometers. The modal properties of the beam with two types of equipments are also compared. The results in both frequency and time domain are comparable.
