A SIMPLE METHOD FOR SYSTEM RELIABILITY
In the present paper,a simple method for system reliability is proposed and examined; for both series and non-series structural systems. Dimension reduction integration is applied to evaluate the first few moments of the system performance function of a structure from which the moment-based reliability index based on the fourth moment standardization function and failure probability can be evaluated without Monte Carlo simulations. The procedure does not require the computation of derivatives,nor the determination of the design point and computation of the mutual correlations among the failure modes; thus,it should be computationally effective for structural system reliability assessment.
