PLANE STRAIN FORM OF DUNCAN-CHANG MODEL AND ITS APPLICATION IN ABAQUS
With the development of finite element technique and the enhancement of computer running speed, numerical simulation gradually becomes an important research method in the field of geotechnical engineering. The accuracy of the simulation result has a significant relationship with the soils constitutive model. Duncan-Chang model is one of the most widely used constitutive models for soil, which not only considers the nonlinear relationship of stress-strain,but also considers the elastoplasticity to some extent for soil masses. The model accords well with actual conditions. But Duncan-Chang model is essentially a one-dimensional model. To make this model available in problem of plane strain, from the basic assumption,we deduced the plane strain form of this model. Then we provided the formulas to calculate stress increments from strain increments. After that we discussed how to deal with shear failure and tensile failure. Finally,we talked about the method of importing this model to ABAQUS finite element software and gave a numerical example to verify the rationality of this model.
