NUMERICAL RESEARCH ON WIND-INDUCED STATIC EFFECT ON A SLAB AFFECTED BY STEADY AIR-SUCTION

In the paper the numerical simulation based on computational dynamics fluid (CFD) is focused on the wind filed around a slab model with air-suction. In simulation the Reynolds Stress Equation Model (RSM) turbulent model is adopted for solving the governing equations and the static force coefficients and surface pressures on the slab is analyzed. The calculated results show that the drag coefficients with air-suction decrease and the absolute values of the lift coefficients and the moment coefficients increase compared with the non-suction. The results also show that the angle of attack have significant influences on the drag coefficients and the lift coefficients, while the moment coefficients are almost not influenced by. The pressures of the windward surface of the slab are increased with more and more suction energy supplying, while the pressures of the leeward surface of the slab are almost the same. The results of the numerical simulation indicate that the steady air-suction can effectively reduce the dragforces.
