A MODEL-BASED PREDICTOR-CORRECTOR ALGORITHM FOR SUBSTRUCTURE HYBRID TEST SYSTEM

As one of the most effective methods to examine the seismic behavior of structures, the hybrid test, commonly associated with substructure technique, has been developed and promoted greatly in the past decade. In order to make the distributed substructure hybrid test systems efficient and extensible, proposed in this paper is a novel substructure hybrid test system using model-based predictor-corrector algorithm which featured with a fully-encapsulated configuration and a non-iterative test scheme. The system has been demonstrated to be feasible and effective by both numerical hybrid simulation and a physical substructure hybrid test of a one-bay one-story steel frame. The numerical substructure is simulated by ABAQUS,whilst the tested substructure is loaded by the three hydraulic actuators. Both numerical and test results verify the feasibility and accuracy of the proposed algorithm.
