EXPERIMENTAL STUDY ON VERTICAL MECHANICAL PROPERTIES OF THE NEW LOW-COST ISOLATION BEARINGS FOR RURAL HOUSING AND ITS NON-LINEAR FINITE ELEMENT ANALYSIS

This paper presents a new type of low-cost isolation devices - fiber rubber bearings. Comparing with the traditional laminated rubber bearings,it has the advantage of lightweight,low-cost,convenience installation and simple production process. It can be applied to rural housing. The vertical mechanical property tests on fiber rubber bearings were conducted,the results were compared with theoretical calculation consequence. It is found that the performance of fiber rubber bearings is steady. They are ideal isolation devices. Based on the study,the nonlinear analysis of the dynamic characteristics by finite element software ANSYS is presented. The analytical results are compared with experimental results,and the consistence is well. Thus,the proposed method can be applied to acquire the mechanical parameters of bearings,which are useful in design new bearings.
