IMPACT ANALYSIS OF INPUT BOUNDARY IN SOIL-STRUCTURE DYNAMIC INTERACTION

Analysis of soil-structure dynamic interaction is an important part in the seismic design for significant structures. The extent to which the analysis results and the real data meet has a significant impact on the design. Fixed bedrock surface input method of ground motion dont meet the physical laws of wave propagation in the semi-infinite domain, which leads to larger calculation errors. Based on the theories of wave propagation in semi-infinite domain and artificial boundary, comparative analysis shows that the input method of ground motion has a significant impact on the calculated results of the soilstructure dynamic interaction in the semi-infinite domain by simple examples. The purpose is to cause the researchers attention on this issue.
