Selection of sweetpotato lines for use of tops containing high amounts of caffeic acid derivatives
We selected a new sweetpotato line with tops containing high amounts of polyphenolic compounds. The total polyphenol content of the new line was almost 1.5 times that of an existing cultivar Suioh,and the amount of 3,4,5-tri-O-caffeoylquinic acid in the leaves of this new line was over 3.5 times that contained in the leaves of Suioh.
