Study on improvement and innovation of Quanshu 218
Breeding, improvement and innovation of Quanshu218,a sweetpotato strain with high yield and disease resistance developed by Quanzhou Institute of Agricultural Science, were described. Quan-shu218 was developed from JinxuanNο4 (♀) by open-pollination in 1991. Quanshu218 and some of its developed offsprings (in the stage of selection or identification nursery) were used as parents of composite hybridization through single cross,group cross or open-pollinating. 11 varieties (stains) were bred,and 4 of them (Quanshu23,Quanshu11, Quanshu Nο9 and QuanshuNο10) were examined and approved by Crop Variety Approved Committee of Fujian province,and their accumulated planted acreage in Fujian province was about 7.0×10-4 hm-2 up to now.
