Influence of agglomeration parameters on the agglomeration process of seeded precipitation
Agglomeration is the important precondition for producing coarse aluminium hydroxide, in order to study the influence of agglomeration parameters on the agglomeration process of seeded precipitation, in this paper, it was researched that the effects of temperature, the molecular ratio of Na2 to Al2O3, seed load and seed initial size on the agglomeration performance of seeded precipitation and hydrate morphology. The results show that it is beneficial for agglomeration when temperature is higher; the particle size of agglomerate is decreased and agglomeration efficiency of fine particles is reduced when the molecular ratio of Na2O to Al2O3 is higher; the agglomeration efficiency is different with the different seed load, the agglomeration efficiency is higher when the supersaturation of sodium aluminate solution and seed load are appropriate; the seed initial size has great influence on the agglomeration efficiency, fine seed is favourable to agglomeration, secondary nucleation is produced and agglomeration can hardly occur if coarse seed is used.
