NUMERICAL SIMULATION OF TEMPERATURE FIELD OF MAG VERTICAL WELDING WITHOUT PENETRATION
In this paper, temperature field of MAG vertical butt welding was simulated and analyzed by use of SYSWELD code. The grid model of the butt weld without penetration was established with the gap considered. A new combined heat source function—double ellipsoid + Gaussian cylindrical was established to simulate the welding process accurately and the function model programme is built with FORTRAN. The influence of the simulation parameters such as heat efficiency, heat partition coefficient, and thermal emission coefficient on the temperature field distribution was studied. The simulated molten pool shape and temperature cycling curve at the tested point were matched with the experimental results.
