A LIC Method Based on Cool/Warm Tone
Texture-based methods are important ways to visualize flow filed, yet they cant reflect the concrete vector direction very well. To solve this problem, this paper presents a novel method which unitizes cool/warm model and LIC technologies. By controlling the color change on the sparse texture fragments in the LIC integration, we achieve the goal of reflecting flow direction by cool/warm color transformation. We also adopt hardware-accelerated technologies, such as GLSL(OpenGL Shading Language), to improve the rendering performance. The experiments show that our method can reflect the flow direction perfect and also improve the final representation quality.
