Develop a Data Preparation Framework for Construction Processes

most research works in simulating construction processes have focused predominantly on modeling and neglected to prepare the data before mining process. 60％ of the time goes into preparing the data for mining, and actual mining step typically constitutes about 10％ of the overall effort The current research presents a framework for data preparation process. The framework depends on preparing the data before modeling and mining stages. This framework consists of four steps: (1) Data Cleaning; (2) Data Integration; (3) Data Transformation; and (4) Data Selection. The developed framework was validated using statistical tests and by comparing the results before and after applying the proposed framework and the results found satisfactory. The developed framework will guide the construction model builder to improve the modeling process and results.
