Preventing Conflict for Partnering Projects in Malaysia

The application of partnering concept has been extended to various types of projects. By employing this partnering procurement, it will reduce in litigation, better working environment and reduction in claims and change orders. The aim of this paper is to identify the factors that cause conflicts and establish ways of reducing or preventing conflicts in partnering in the Malaysian construction industry. Questionnaire survey was sent to experience partnering practitioners in Malaysia and the results gave a positive feedback in suggest the effective way in preventing conflicts in partnering. It was found that partnering in Malaysia served good implementations to any project and it is very necessary in form a good culture in relationship between parties involved towards a successful project. It need more effort to investigate a better way in improving partnering approach which includes management styles and companys background.
