Modifying Project Management Process; Using SWOT Analysis

Nowadays with the development of Project Management (PM) concepts and needs of organizations in applying this knowledge, the necessity of providing a method for designing and implementing a better PM is felt and every effort should be made in order to improve, plan and execute projects. This will increase the quality of work, employer and customer satisfaction and reduce costs and time previously predicted. In this article, Critical Success Factors (CSFs) that affect success of projects have been gathered from different perspectives. Then, using the Strategic Management (SM) approach, data needed to solve these problems in projects using SWOT (Strength, Weakness, Opportunity, Threat) techniques is obtained by questioning a panel of experts. Then by analyzing the results, an efficient flowchart is presented in which the design procedure, deployment and implementation of the projects is demonstrated by considering the SM approach. Results show that by using information from SWOT matrix of many threats and weaknesses of projects are in fact reversible.
