Bridges Influence Line Estimation for Bridge Weigh-in-Motion System
This article presents an algorithm that estimates the bridge influence line (IL) using observed strain signals when trucks travel on the bridge. Traditionally used in bridge study, the IL is here used for vehicle weighing. The IL estimation is based on the maximum likelihood principle using strain measurements collected in Millau Viaduct when two calibration trucks passed over the sensors. The validation of the algorithm is then carried out with strain signals produced by trucks randomly picked in the traffic flow.
