Experimental and Analytical Studies of Quality Control in Roadbed Compaction Using Geogauge Instrument

Construction Machinery urgent need for foundation of a fast and reliable detection method of compaction quality. The Geogauge can meet this requirement. The organization and principle of Geogauge who is new measurement instrument for compacted quality of roadbed are introduced. The method predicting dry density of soil by Geogauge whose predicting precision is analyzed by the comparison between predicting value of dry density and measured one is studied. The correlation between stiffness of soil and soil coefficient is analyzed by means of regression. The instrument has higher precision for detecting compacted quality of roadbed. Preliminary studies show that the Geogauge is an effective means as quality testing of roadbed with great prospects.
